Q: What is a good age to start taking dance lessons?

A: Three years old is generally the age most studios start taking children. If the age requirement is younger than that, the child should at least be potty trained.

Q: Why purchase swim suit tops and bottoms separately?

A: Purchasing tops and bottoms separately is a great idea because most people do not wear the same size top and bottom. Separates allow you to pick a different size top and bottom. You can also mix and match styles and colors.

Q: What is hot in swim wear this season?

A: Solids are always a must have. Also, mixing solids with prints - like a printed top and a solid bottom. Ruffle trim, skirted bottoms, and ruching are hot trends this year.

Q: What companies make swimsuits that come higher in the waist and have full coverage?

A: Some good companies for this type of suit would be Leilani, Becca, Jantzen, Lucky Brand, Jag, and Perry Ellis. For suits that are not high cut, but have full coverage in the back, try Vitamin A, Raisins, and Radio Fiji. These suits have fuller rear coverage unless otherwise stated.

Q: How should ballet shoes fit?

A: Young children, about ages 3 to 10, can have growing room in their shoes, but not quite as much as you would allow for tennis shoes. From age 11 and up, there should be no growing room. The shoe should fit snug, like a glove would fit on your hand.

Q: Which swimsuit companies have D-cup, DD-Cup, and E-Cup tops?

A:
The companies that make D-Cup tops are: Becca, Sunsets, Storm in a D-Cup, Freya, Fantasie, Tara Grinna, Lucky Brand, Body Glove, and Perry Elliis.

Q: What is flattering and what is not in swim wear?

A: Flattering: Fixed halters tops are very flattering on most people. They provide excellent support and give a little extra lift.
Not Flattering: If you are trying to cover behinds and thighs, boy shorts are not the way to go. They actually accentuate the areas being covered up.

Q: If I have very strong feet, will I break my pointe shoes faster?

A: If you have strong feet, your pointe shoes could actually last longer. The stronger your feet are the less you will depend on support from your shoes.

Q: How do I find a dance studio?

A: The best way to go about finding a dance studio is to look in the phone book for studios in your area. From there you can call the studios that appear interesting to you and set up times to go observe classes. This should be a sufficient way to determine if you like the studio or not.

Q: How is the quality of the swim suits at Pampo's?

A: Some companies sell swimwear that may last you for one season. However, Pampo's strives to bring you the highest quality in swimwear. Depending on what you do in your swimsuits, a suit may last for several years. If you happen to purchase a defective suit, please notify us of the problem so we can send it back to the vendor and see about getting you a replacement or a credit.
